The hoodie (previous generation)

€80

The 3rd-generation hoodie sells for €95.

Previous generation
Previous generation

The main difference from the previous generation (sold for €95) is that the cotton isn't organic.

Second-generation improvements:

  • New seams to prevent loose threads or fabric sticking out
  • Tone-on-tone drawstrings
  • Crimped metal tips (to keep them from coming loose)
  • Adding a knot at the end of the drawstrings (so they don't disappear into the machine)

Three ways to find your hoodie size

With your gut feeling

We fit true to size. Basically, if you take a M at most traditional brands (Uniqlo, Gap, Carhartt...), take a M with us.

With us

Tell us a bit about yourself by answering our 3 questions by clicking here and our team of body-shape experts will get back to you within 24h (we call it the concierge experience).

With a tape measure

Pick a hoodie (or a sweatshirt) that fits you well (we mean the size, not the colour). Measure it flat, then check the table below:

Size (cm)XSSMLXL
a - Sleeve length6163656769
b - Half chest measurement4648505254
c - Shoulder width4143454749
d - Back length6365676971

PS: Making clothes is a manual job. These measurements can therefore vary by plus or minus 1 cm.

How this product will age
How do we know? We ask our customers what they think of the product one year after they've bought it. And if the product is less than a year old, we give you our predictions based on some spontaneous feedback and on our experience with similar products.

This hoodie will stay in good shape over the years, without pilling or losing its shape. Some people who have worn it a lot have noticed that the cuffs can wear out at the ends. The colours may fade with washing, and a handful of people found that their hoodie could even turn a bit pinkish (this happens with any cotton garment that gets too much sun and sea spray). After heavy washing, a few people have told us that elastane threads can come out of the stretch panels (in that case, just trim them off and they'll disappear).

Care instructions

It can go in the machine at 40 degrees, but it's better to wash it at 30°C: just as effective, far greener and it'll make it last longer.

Better to wash it inside out: the cotton fibres inside your hoodie have been brushed for extra softness and could pill. And do close the zip before putting it in the machine: this keeps the teeth from getting damaged and protects your other clothes from abrasion.

Avoid the tumble dryer, but if you have no choice, use a low temperature (i.e. a delicate or synthetic setting) to keep the elastane in the collar, cuffs and hem from stretching out. Don't dry it on a hanger either: your hoodie is heavy when wet and could lose its shape under the weight of the water. For the sake of its lifespan and the planet, the best thing is to dry it flat, on a drying rack or a towel.

Finally, this hoodie is made of cotton, not kevlar: it might shrink a little in the first wash (but always less than 3%). Don't worry, that's normal and it'll settle down afterwards.

Reviews for this product

The standard practice is to send review request e-mails a few days after the purchase. We wait a month, the minimum time needed to form a well-informed opinion

Learn more about our reviews policy

Customer review policy

When do you ask customers for reviews?

We send you a review request one month after you receive your order. We reckon that's the minimum amount of time needed to have worn and washed a garment several times and to really form a well-informed opinion. After that, all your reviews are published within the week, whether they're good or not.

Do you ask for reviews on 100% of the products customers order?

We used to do that at first, then we realised we were starting to send far too many emails to some people who buy from us regularly. In short, we were spamming a bit. On top of that, it was starting to take up way too much of the team's time to reply to reviews - since we want to reply individually and privately to almost every person who leaves us a review. Today, we no longer ask for reviews on products that meet the following two criteria: 1/ There are enough reviews shown on the site for people who want to buy to form a well-informed opinion about the product 2/ We've read enough reviews within the Loom team to understand how to improve the product for the next generation.

Hold your horses: what proves we don't tamper with reviews by slapping 5 stars everywhere?

Honestly: nothing, we're just giving you our word. Same as for everything else, by the way: where we manufacture, where our wool comes from, our lab test scores, and so on. The only times we might touch what you write are if your message contains spelling mistakes (and even then, quite a few slip past us) or if it's racist, homophobic, and so on (but that's never happened so far).

Asking for a review after a month isn't enough to know whether the clothes really are durable, is it?

You're right, which is why we send you another review request email a year after your purchase – we even ask for a photo to see how your garment has aged. The answers help us improve our clothes and provide information about "how this product will age" on our product pages. To avoid bothering our customers needlessly, we don't ask for these reviews on 100% of the products ordered: as soon as we have enough data to understand the areas for improvement, we stop asking for the one-year reviews.
